Where Is the Love? – GH

By Martini Kitty

Remember when the motto for daytime dramas was “love in the afternoon?”  (The Networks used to even promote the slogan with merchandising and personal appearances.)  Over the last two decades, soaps have lost the concept of what a real romance and true love are.  Real love is not having sex with a near stranger…it isn’t changing partners every few months…it isn’t declaring your undying devotion only to abandon someone the moment they disappoint you or make a mistake or do something really stupid or even criminal.

Stop Snowing Us – GH

By Martini Kitty

Greetings from under several more feet of snow.  The nasty white stuff is now so high that I can barely see out of the windows.  And they are saying we will see more than another foot before the week is out. (Yes, that is my mail box.)

Meanwhile, in Port Charles, things continue to stumble along in a confusing and unsatisfactory way, and I am tired of TPTB trying to snow us…trying to convince us that this is currently good drama.  That is a flat out lie, and it is my fervent belief most viewers are too smart to fall for it.

Another Pinch-Hitter – GH

by Martini Kitty & Alias Dre

I am still on the mend…it’s a slow process, but I am being a good patient and doing my physical therapy regularly, and with as much enthusiasm as I can muster.  On the upside, having just had shoulder surgery, I didn’t have to shovel any of the 24 inches of snow that fell Tuesday.  (Yeah…I’m South of Boston.  The area that got hit hardest by the storm.)  I have a few thoughts on GH, and then I will turn it over to my wonderful guest writer.

On the Mend – GH

By Martini Kitty & Priscilla K.

Greetings, Readers!  Thank you for being patient.  I (Martini Kitty) thought I would be able to at least get other people’s columns posted, but my first week after surgery found me less able than I expected. (Incidentally, you can credit my pain meds for any errors in proofing.)  I will be undergoing physical therapy for the next 8 weeks, so I may need to employ a few more of you marvelous volunteers.

2014 GH Best and Worst

By Martini Kitty

It was a year filled with shootings, kidnappings, masks, babies, and embryos, with little else being offered in the way of true story-telling.

Giving Thanks

By Martini Kitty

Happy belated Thanksgiving!  I had prepped the column for last week, but the boss kindly gave us permission to take the week off.  I gratefully accepted and used the time to continue my job search…which was successful!  I count that among the things for which I am thankful.  And there are other things on that list, as well.  Let’s celebrate some of the following…

Contract Killings – GH

By Martini Kitty

Do I mean the endless mob hits?  Nope.  I’m referring to the employment agreements for certain actors.  While those performers have not yet been terminated, they no longer have contract status.

Landmark

By Martini Kitty

November 1st marked my one year anniversary for having taken over this column.  There have been a lot of columns between then and now (49 to be exact,) so out of curiosity I looked up the opinion piece from the first week of last November and re-read what I had written.

Another Round of Baby Blues – GH

By Martin Kitty

Aside from Lulu’s missing Thermos of Life, we have Ava in pregnancy crisis, Sabrina grieving the loss of her son, and Nina still reeling from a supposed miscarriage which took place more than twenty years back.
